Full Job Description
We are looking for an Educational Director for Little Scholars NYC daycare centers, who will help to ensure our goal – to provide the highest quality of early childhood education using theories from creative and high-scope educational models
Little Scholars is always innovating, that is why our ideas and curriculum will always stimulate all five areas of development:

2) cognitive

We need a professional who will not just follow our progressive curriculum. But who, showing interest in work and love for children, will provide care so that parents are sure that their children are in a favorable environment.
In your day-by-day activities, you will work on:
- Gathering a team of real professionals, building strong working relationships with them, and organizing their work efficiently
- Interviewing and hiring the best of the best to grow your staff
- Building trusted relationships with parents, working closely with them to provide better care and quality education for children
- Cultivate positive relationships with state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
- Adherence to brand standards and TLE curriculum, ensuring high quality of services through effective management of personnel and ourselves
- Ensuring compliance with educational, safety, medical and sanitary standards in accordance with the law
- Working with the objections of employees, listening to all the expressed problems of the staff and building an action plan in accordance with the conclusions
- Assistance in building personal development plans for staff
- Builds and communicates weekly schedules
- Setting up, managing and achievement controlling for the classroom ratios
- Managing new hire paperwork and all employee files in compliance with state licensing regulations
- Communicating to stakeholders centers schedules to ensure appropriate ratios are always intact and labor is effectively managed to budget
- Leading tours with prospective families, highlighting key features and points of difference in our curriculum, teacher tenure/quality, etc.
- Ensuring the physical environment and health/safety standards are in full compliance with local and state licensing regulations
Incident reporting
We expect from you:
- At least one year of solid leadership experience with the ability to develop, engage, and inspire a team
- Bachelor’s degree in ECE or a related field is highly preferred
- Ability to build trusting relationships with families and a strong customer focus
- Strong leadership skills, clear understanding of how to build and manage an effective team
- Ability to conduct high-quality interviews and select the best teachers for the team
- Excellent self-organizational skills, ability to multitask
- Ability to effectively and quickly make decisions in crisis situations
- Experience working with budgets and financial reporting
- Knowledge of features of NAEYC/NAC and state licensing, and how it works
- Meeting New York State requirements for similar positions
- Deep knowledge of progressive certified educational programs
- Must have personal professional teaching experience
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
- create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
- Any second language is a plus (Russian, Chinese, Spanish, etc.)
