Lead Preschool Teacher (Chelsea)

Little Scholars Learning Center is seeking a caring, experienced, and motivated Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team in Chelsea, Manhattan.

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom where young children can learn through play, exploration, and meaningful everyday experiences. You will support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development while working closely with families, fellow educators, and school leadership.

Position Details

Location: 600 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10011
Pay: $24.00–$27.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Sign-on Bonus: $250

What You’ll Do

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
• Create a welcoming, organized, and supportive classroom environment
• Adapt lesson plans and activities based on children’s individual developmental needs
• Observe, track, and document children’s progress and milestones
• Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families
• Maintain consistent classroom supervision and follow health and safety requirements
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other team members
• Encourage an inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported and valued

What You’ll Do

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• At least 12 Early Childhood Education credits
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children
• Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues
• Patient, dependable, nurturing, and empathetic approach to early childhood education
• Ability to meet applicable New York State and licensing requirements
• Reliable ability to commute to 600 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10011
