Lead Toddler Teacher

Little Scholars Learning Center is seeking a caring, experienced, and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team in Brooklyn.

As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment where toddlers can learn through play, exploration, routines, and meaningful daily experiences. You will support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development while working closely with families, fellow teachers, and center leadership.

Position Details

Location: Little Scholars Learning Center, 4123 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11234
Pay: $24.00–$27.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time, in person
Sign-On Bonus: $250

What You’ll Do

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate, play-based activities for toddlers
• Create a welcoming, nurturing, and well-organized classroom environment
• Establish consistent daily routines that support children’s development and independence
• Adapt activities and lesson plans to children’s individual interests, abilities, and developmental needs
• Use positive and developmentally appropriate classroom-management strategies
• Observe, document, and monitor children’s learning, growth, and developmental milestones
• Build strong relationships with children and communicate professionally with parents and families
• Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, and childcare licensing requirements
• Collaborate with assistant teachers, administrators, and other early childhood educators
• Support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
• At least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a preschool, daycare, childcare center, or other early childhood setting
• Understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices
• Strong classroom-management, communication, and teamwork skills
• Patient, dependable, nurturing, and attentive approach to working with young children
• Ability to meet applicable New York State and childcare licensing requirements
• Reliable ability to commute to 4123 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11234
